The Woman’s National Farm & Garden Association (WNF&GA) provides annual donations in support of the internship programs of the organizations listed below. Application for an internship position is made to the specific organization. The internship programs provide hands-on training, work experience and educational opportunities.
Renaud-Peterson National Arboretum Internship
The Louisa King Memorial Dogwood Garden, located at the U.S. National Arboretum was established in 1952 by the Woman’s National Farm & Garden Association. The garden was dedicated in memory of Louisa Yeomans King, the association’s first president. A dogwood has been planted to honor each outgoing WNF&GA National president. The Renaud – Peterson U.S. National Arboretum Internship supports the hiring of an intern to help ensure the dogwood collection is properly maintained. This internship is funded through a generous donation, given in 1987, from James and Marion Renaud. In 1996, Bea Peterson and Juliah Gibson trekked 375 miles from New York to Washington, D.C. This ‘Walk to the Garden’ raised a significant amount of money to fund the internship program. Mrs. Charles Peterson (Bea) was WNF&GA president from 1994-1996. Annual contributions also come from Divisions, Branches and individuals

Ambler Arboretum at Temple University Internship
WNF&GA contributes to the Ambler Arboretum internship. As the founding site for WNF&GA, the Ambler Arboretum provides current students with an opportunity to broaden their experience within the horticulture field. Student interns preform the following:
• develop a knowledge of plant, design and material needs
• maintain gardens and equipment
• propagate- including collection, storage and sowing of seeds and cuttings
• assist curatorial horticulturist
• assist with educational programming and visitor experiences
Qualifications:
• Temple University student with interest and experience in horticulture and/or landscape architecture and design
• entering junior or senior year or may have just completed a related degree
